1) Insulating pipes in an attic is a sweaty job.

2) It is incredibly easy to put your foot through the ceiling. And a light fixture.

3) Drywall needs to be rasped.

4) Mudding and taping are also things for the enjoyment of drywall.

There are probably other things I'm leaving out. The insulating is done though - victory!!!

laughingsquid.com/an-incredibly-detailed-cross-section-illustration-of-kowloon-walled-city-in-hong-kong/

Wow! I first learned about Kowloon Walled City in a William Gibson novel (Virtual Light, I think) and have always found it fascinating.  These cross-sections are really cool!

Last night, we tasted some food from one of the caterers we are more likely to hire.

Several friends came along with and gave us some very good feedback. It was also nice to be able to hang out with everyone again.

Not everything was a hit, but there some dishes that were very, very good. If they come in with a quote under our budget (fingers crossed!), I think we have a winner!

Well, I finally bit the bullet and I'm upgrading to iOS 8 (after purging my phone of about 5 gigabytes of photos).

We'll see what sort of impression I have in a couple of days, if my phone restarts.

At the rate I'm going, 52 books in a year is going to be pretty hard. Oh well!
